Oilers Clinch Playoff Spot for 7th Straight Season

The Edmonton Oilers are going back to the playoffs.
It became official Saturday night when the Winnipeg Jets lost to the Philadelphia Flyers, locking Edmonton into the postseason for the seventh straight year.
Seven. Straight.
Take a second and actually think about that. This is a franchise that was one of the worst teams in hockey not that long ago. Now they can't stay out of the playoffs.
This season wasn't always pretty. There were stretches where things got shaky, injuries piled up, and you started to wonder. But when it mattered, they locked in. That's what this group does.
And they're not just sneaking in either. The Oilers are still fighting for positioning in the Pacific, which could be the difference between home ice and a road series when it all starts. That race isn't over.
Getting in was step one.
Now the real work begins.
