The win streak is over.

The Oilers saw their five-game heater come to a hard stop Saturday night, getting handled 5 to 1 by the Golden Knights at Rogers Place. And yeah... this one had a little extra juice. Felt like a playoff game. Felt like two teams that don't like each other.

Vegas just had another level. Simple as that.

There was a lot of chirping all night too. Trent Frederic summed it up perfectly:

"It's just bickering back and forth, everyone telling everyone they make too much money... which is all true. Sounds like a lot of people are jealous." — Trent Frederic

You could feel it. This wasn't just another regular season game.

The tough part for Edmonton? No Leon Draisaitl. No Zach Hyman. And against a team like Vegas, that's a big problem. The Oilers have held their own without Leon, but missing both guys showed.

Jake Walman didn't sugarcoat it either:

"It's not the same team without them." — Jake Walman

And he's right.

Vegas took control in the second and never looked back. Jack Eichel was everywhere, picking up three assists, and Jeremy Lauzon even snapped a 112-game goal drought to make it 3 to 0... which kind of tells you how the night was going.

Only bright spot offensively? Evan Bouchard.

His 21st of the year and now sitting at 88 points. From a defenceman. Ridiculous.

Oilers did try to push back physically though. 34 hits on the night, Max Jones leading the way. But it wasn't enough to swing the game.

Kris Knoblauch also confirmed after that neither Draisaitl nor Hyman are going on the road trip. So yeah... not ideal timing.

Still, the room isn't panicking.

Curtis Lazar kept it simple:

"They got the better of us tonight. We got them earlier. A little fuel at the end there... I'm sure we'll see them again." — Curtis Lazar

And honestly... it sure feels like we will.

Because if this is a playoff matchup?

It's gonna be absolute chaos.
